The death of someone you know

This is one of the most common dreams, not usually bad as you think.
However there's difference in the way of death.

1. You heard that someone died: This is not bad at all. It actually means, that person is going to live a long life.
2. You saw someone drowned: It means:

              - That person is going to have a really hard situation or a problem, could be finance, emotionally, fight, work or family.

              - That person might lose faith, or adopt bad habit, like, drugs, bad friends, etc

      

       3- Someone got stabbed: It means they're going to suffer from gossip talk, evil eye, or an enemy is going to plot something bad for them.

In general, you must remember that you can't interpret by only choosing one symbol meaning without considering the whole dream story. Sometimes the dream can tell a problem but also a positive sign of the solution, all in the same dream.
